Cultural Artifact Presentation

This paper and presentation were written to fulfill an assignment in which we were required to present a cultural artifact, also known as a cultural moment. We had to discuss the physical specifics of the artifact and its effect on the United States societal culture. I decided on an artifact that I felt passionate about and that caused a social uproar. That artifact was obviously A.O.C’s “Tax The Rich” dress she wore at the 2021 Met Gala. I discuss the hypocrisy and conflict of a dress with that statement at a highly prestigious and financially exclusive party. I challenged the political statement based on the messenger, delivery, and location.
