World Literature Critical Paper

Amitav Ghosh’s novel The Hungry Tide focuses heavily on the concept of communication and language. This was an assigned paper for a World Literature class. We were required to write on a novel we had studied that semester. As I studied this novel, I found there were some parts where language carried emotions and self-expression from person to person. However, there were also parts where language was a barrier to express those same things. I focused on these two conflicting ideas in my paper to explore the ideas of self-expression through language.
